wine in the capital region!

my parents came up this weekend, and i'm calling it the "super kramer weekend."  first stop- jose malones in troy, ny.  Well, the food was TOO good, that i gobbled it all up before I could take any decent pictures of it, so let's just roll on to day two- the saratoga winery!

I basically just found this place online.  my parents are on a super winery/brewery kick, so i told them that i'd find a fun place for us to taste some booze up here.  pressure! i'm really glad i found this place though, because it was easy to find, had amazing wine, and had a really cool atmosphere. i'm definitely going back for some fall/winter wines when the time comes...

you think you're going nowhere, then you come across this gem...

hmmm... wall of wine!

here's the laminated list... just mark off what you'd like to try, and it's all yours!

some of the awesome bottles we sampled...

i think it was the cabernet sauvignon... i bought it... it was too good!

back room with all the wines we sampled...

oh man... they had homemade goodies from around the area... it was GREAT!

beautiful back deck!  i can't wait to come back in the fall when the leaves are turning!

wino...

here's a fact you may or may not know about me.  i feel like we're friends now, so i should probably let you know:  i. love. wine.  preferably red. white in the summer. NOT sweet. wine- love it!  i could drink it every day if my budget allowed for it, but for now it's just for special occasions.  so, when my friends from warwick, ny told me about a DYLAN fest at a WINERY, i was definitely there!

photography and drunkenness ensued...

Wine-o in Maryland

I love wine, but have never actually made it to a winery. I was so excited that we were going to a winery this past weekend, and it was so worth it! Boordy vineyards is a beautiful vineyard in the heart of Maryland.  Everyone there was super friendly and informative.  We were able to try a ton of wines and come out with a Boordy wine glass for only 5 bucks!  I would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Look at that!  Isn't that beautiful?
Lovely ladies getting ready for some booze!

Look at that wine- isn't it beautiful?  I ended up with the Seyval/ Chardonnary/ Vidal Blanc.  It's a dry and super summery white.  I'm so excited to drink it on the back deck with Matt!

Ahhh!  Hoagies from Wawa!  Oh how I've missed you.  There are some things just make me feel like I'm home.

There was a small room with tables that you can sit down and enjoy your wine at.  Of course I took this opportunity to take some pictures!

Wine room!  Just barrels and barrels and bottles and bottles of wine.  Heaven!

We made our own glasses to do our tasting in.

Cork from the bottle of sangria we bought.  I think I lost it though.  I'm terrible at taking away souveniers.  I guess that's why I'm a photographer.
