i need YOUR help!

While I was waiting for a washing machine at the laundomat last night, I looked down at my keychain and was totally horrified.  It's UGLY!  I'm not even going to show you a picture of it, it's so ugly.  So, I decided to find a new one, where else? Etsy!  Obviously, I searched for a brown one, and found some really cute items!  

This is where you come in.  I found 7 beautiful brown keychains, and I want to buy one.  Comment on which one you think I should buy.  Whichever keychain gets the most comments will be mine! (also, I don't know how long I can wait to purchase, so comment as soon as you read this!)

when it all comes together...

you spend many minutes and hours creating some adorable custom fingerless gloves.  you toil over which colors to use.  you wonder if your customer will love them.  then, it's time to take pictures...

 it's fall, so i had to use some "props" that i found on the back porch.

 it's amazing what a great background the blue brick of our back deck makes...

 i LOVE the versatility of these gloves- they'd match with anything!

It's been a busy week at FriendlyBrown! It's taken a few days to get back to feeling like a real person again, but the other day I received an order for TWO custom pairs of gloves! Designed after my pumpkin fingerless gloves, one pair will feature shades of brown (eeeeee!) and the other shades of black, white, and grey. I was psyched to get rolling on these and finally got to break out the needles last night...

friendlybrown packaging...

i mailed out some orders today, and i thought you might be interested in how i package my knitted items...

with every pair that i send out, i see it more like sending a present than shipping an order. one of the most important parts of my packaging is a hand-written note i send with each and every order. it's important to me to let the buyer know how excited i am to be selling on etsy. i make sure to pick out tissue paper that matches the knitted item. it's never super long, just a little note telling them something about the hand warmers and sending well wishes. the number 1 comment i get from buyers is that they appreciated the little note i sent with order.

my favorite part of shipping is picking out matching tissue paper to wrap the order with. a little color goes a long way, especially when a lot of my world is surrounded around brown! i have a variety pack of cool tissues papers that i wrap each order with. i tie it all up with a piece of simple hemp, and it's ready to go to its destination. i've sold orders all around the world, but the excitement of sending out something that i've put a lot of time and thought into never dies.
