Kramer cookie weekend- coconut macaroons

I must say- I have super talented friends! Very recently I've received 3 different batches of cookies from 3 amazing ladies. I want to showcase them in their own posts, because... well, they deserve it!

First up- Miriam Paska- Queen of the macaroon!

I worked with Miriam over the year, and always marveled at all the crafty and yummy things she comes up with! She recently approached me with a batch of macaroons that she wanted me to photograph. Eeeeeeee! I was so excited because a) I LOVE photographing food, and b) because I got to eat them afterward! For this photo shoot I was actually home in PA, so I got the help of mom and Caitlin to make these pictures perfect! I love the look of the curtains in my parent's living room, and the plates my mom had were adorable. Also- we chowed down on these goodies after I was finished shooting, and they. were. amazing! a kramer birthday!

Sheesh! It's been a week and a half since my birthday, and I can believe I haven't told you all about it yet! It realy was an awesome day filled with good food, and great friends!

The day started off with breakfast (an egg scramble with sausage, peppers, and cheese) made by Matt Kelly.

Birthday presents! (which also included the biggest bottle of Bailey's that I've ever seen, not pictured here)

Dinner at New World Bistro Bar (don't worry, I'll tell you all about the amazing time I had here tomorrow)

Large Birthday drink number 2 at Eldas (Note- if it's your birthday, go here for your drink! It's not as crowded, you don't have to spend $15 dollars to get your drink like at Bombers, and you get to choose from a special birthday menu! I chose a drink called "Great Sex!")

so excited!

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been MIA lately. I had a super busy week that I can't wait to tell you about (birthday celebrations, comedy shows, cookies, new designs and more!), but for now I just had to tell you about the blog I've been featured in!

All Over Albany is by far my favorite blog, and they featured me in a post about local Etsy shops today! (Insert excited squeal here!) Please go and check it out here. Writer and fellow Etsian Crystal Powel has done an amazing job finding some awesome local shops. Great places to do all of your Christmas shopping from the privacy of your own home!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope you're all having a wonderful day! I thought it would be fun this Thanksgiving to show you a few pictures from our time last year!

My parents, sister, and her boyfriend made the trek up to Albany for the first annual Kelly/Kramer Thanksgiving extravaganza (LOVE that me and Matt's last names just make up my name!)

autumn bbq...

Between some rainy autumn days have been some absolutely gorgeous and warm fall nights. Matt surprised me with some ballin' steaks the other night, and we headed outside to grill them up and enjoy a beautiful (and warm- I didn't even need a coat!) autumn night...

this shot was actually taken at night! it was totally dark outside! i couldn't believe how this one came out...

all a girl really needs...

is pizza and beer! the other night we checked out my new favorite hot spot in center square- Townsend Park Bakery and Cafe on Washington Ave. This place is legit, and I beg you to go and check it out! Great food, cheap beer, awesome atmosphere- I'm already eyeing it up for my birthday, and it's months and months away!

photo inspiration: Lark Street

This week's photo inspiration is in celebration of LarkFest!

This picture is from an installation of some Center Square- themed wallpaper created by 2 local artists: Laura Glazer and Lori Hansen. It's located in the window of Capital Wine, and is pretty freaking amazing! A more thorough explanation of the story behind this incredible work of art can be seen here. I just had to get a shot of the Jay Street section, of course! It was definitely a blast checking out all of the little things included in the work of art. Great work girls!

on the needles: shades of gray

The other day I mentioned a pair of brown gloves I was custom-knitting for a customer. Today I started the black, white, and gray pair that was ordered. Im really digging these color combos. So simple, they could match anything (even the cute trench coat I saw at Target yesterday!) it's been a total pleasure making these gloves- I hope she loves them!

A FriendlyBrown dream...

Well, my local yarn supplier (Joanne's in Colonie) recently remodeled. I didn't think it would really affect me, but when I finally found the yarn section, I was pleasantly surprised that they increased their inventory and straightened things out quite nicely.

Everything was laid out so nicely, so many colors and textures! I saw a lot of yarns that I had never seen before, and I'm super psyched to try some out.

This was my section- Vanna's choice!

photo inspiration- labor day weekend...

Sorry I've been MIA this weekend, but I was deep in the woods and mountains at a kick ass festival. Its late, and I'm dead tired but I'll leave you with this picture that I think epitomizes my feeling of the whole weekend:

I found this on someones car in the parking lot (actually it was more like a field but anyway). I spotted it a mile away because a) it's a turtle! And b) it's a peace sign. It's a chill turtle, and I love it. If anyone knows where I can find a sticker like this, let me know!

shop local: a quickie

i'm apologizing in advance, but this is going to be a quick shop local post. i'm in the middle of throwing a bunch of stuff together for a festival i'm going to tomorrow (moe.down baby!), but wanted to take a minute and show off some awesome shops i found this week. there's no rhyme or reason to these picks, i just thought they all kicked ass! (ok- on further reflection of what i picked, apparently i was in a very naturey, flowery mood, because all of these items have flowers or nature in them- go figure!)
